So it begins.....The Professional Inquiry

Hello all,

Hope you all had a lovely break! It's time to start our Professional Inquiries.......
It's now to the action of our plans!

How is everybody feeling? What are people confused about?

I for one am confused about the layout.
Are we to only have a couple of weeks of doing the actual research? In the Handbook it gives us an Indicative timescale for study, and by week 4 it suggests we send a sample of our inquiry "analysis". Is this the final analysis?

I do hope I'm not the only one who panicked a little after reading the Handbook.

    Hi Kimberly,

    Don't worry I think everyone has panicked! Basically what I have taken from it is that we need to do what is basically like a dissertation based on our inquiry - Literature, research - Int's, Obv's, surveys ect! Analyse your findings and maybe find literature related to your findings whilst also maybe carrying out a workshop or class or whatever your area of work is based on your findings. Needs to include all ethical dimensions too. Then the critical reflection I think will just be the same as what we have been doing in previous modules! So a summary of things we have learnt ect. Artefact I am not 100 percent on! I'm hoping to find that out when I speak to Paula!...We have basically 3 months! Scary isn't it?! I am sure we will be fine though! Let me know any updates or if you find out anything about what I have said! Take care Xx

    Hey Kimberley,

    I just wrote you a comment so sorry if you get this twice, but it seems to have disappeared... sorry if you get this twice.

    I think we are just supposed to review where we are so far, questions that have come up in feed back, or as you've moved forward with research etc since the plan. If it'll help I'm happy to email you what I've done...not that it's right necessarily! But it might help you figure out how you want to tackle the task.

    I'm in panic mode as well, so no one worry we're in this together.


    I feel after reading the handbook several times I'm beginning to have an understanding for the process, just what Melanie and Megan have said.

    However I am a little confused and unsure of the artefact....have you any ideas of the process or what you might like to do?

      Hi Ashleigh.
      Well, my topic is based on a human quality and teaching, and atm I'm thinking of doing an audio-visual possibly on Power point or even a youtube clip like we did for module 1, and base mine towards a dance teacher audience.
      Believe me,...that's an area that is hazy to me too. haha.
      What ideas do you have?
